Last week, something truly special happened in our Dubai store.
Instead of the usual product displays and customer conversations, our space was filled with the powerful rhythm of drums, synchronized movement, and a kind of energy that immediately caught everyone’s attention. A traditional Chinese Yingge Dance team — originating from the Chaoshan region — visited us and brought with them a cultural performance that few of our international guests had ever experienced before.
For many of our visitors, this was their first encounter with Yingge Dance — a recognized part of China’s intangible cultural heritage. Known for its strong movements, expressive storytelling, and deep historical roots, Yingge is more than just a performance. It represents community, discipline, and a spirit that has been passed down through generations.
People stopped. Phones came out. Videos were recorded. But more importantly, conversations started.
Our international guests were curious — asking about the meaning behind the dance, the costumes, the music. It became a moment of cultural exchange, right here in the heart of Dubai.
